CERRO GOLF COURSE IN URUGUAY

Cerro Golf Club and Golf CourseThis Uruguay golf club has an excellent design, with beautiful views of the bay, the sea and Cerro fortress. In 1913 the Swift slaughter and cold-storage plant (USA) was built in Uruguay and as was customary with Swift, a golf course was added to the plans. The golf club house was brought over from Chicago to Uruguay and the golf club is baptized with the name CHIMONT, Chicago-Montevideo. In the decade of the 30's the famous designer Dr Alliester McKenzie was given the responsibility of re-designing the golf club and the 18 holes golf course, finally in the 1950's, when the Swift company closed, the golf club was renamed with its present name.

BEST HOLES IN GOLF COURSE

The hole 5 and hole 15 are the most interesting holes in this golf course. In hole 5 you start over the rocks realy close to the sea, and in hole 15 the start is against the cerro rock wall.
